Hello, My name is Barry Hogarth, I own and run 'In the Skin Tattoo' studio in Penzance.

I have been tattooing for just over 15 years starting out under the guidance of Mr Sebastian who entrusted me with my first tattoo machines. After 5 years working in studios in and around London, I settled at the Happy Sailor tattoo studio, Shoreditch E2. I successfully built up and ran this studio transforming it from a 1 room basement shop, to a two floor fully functioning tattoo studio, which was held in high regard amongst the London tattoo scene. It was here that I began to tattoo many London based celebrities and members of the art community (see links page). At the height of this I appeared in the film Green Street, on Miami Ink and most recently on the cover of ‘Tattoo Clip Art” a recent publication by Danny Fuller.

After 20 years in London I decided to hand the keys over to the very capable James and Tota, and escaped the hustle and bustle of city life. Ending up in Penzance, I took over In The Skin in December 2006. Again, finding myself the owner of a run down tattoo shop, I saw its great potential and worked my magic to convert it into the high class tattoo studio it is today. Working to the London and world class standards I am accustomed to, the studio is now credible in terms of reputation, hygiene and most importantly quality of tattoos.
